The history of a process approach in managing companies can be dated from at least the second half of the 20th century, when a traditional model of organizing a company based on a hierarchical dependency structure, also known as the Taylor model, starts to give way to transformations directed towards a process management model – the Deming model. Societies getting richer, technicalization, automatization and computerization cause a rapid increase in productivity and on the other hand in the need of a new look on an organization – it's not only efficiency, but the quality of products that begins to matter when it comes to remaining on the market.
